In The Heat Of Battle – Coming 4/25 from Whispers Publishing

Excerpt….

Just as Michelle began to plot her escape, the door opened and there stood Liz the bitch, in the flesh.

It was all she could do to keep what she hoped was a sexy smile plastered across her face as the woman closed the space between them. It was the moment she had been plotting for weeks, but she could hardly believe it was real.

“I’m so glad you’re here,” Liz purred as she eased herself into the seat across from Michelle.

“I’m glad you came too. I ordered us a bottle of Merlot. I hope you like it.” Michelle smiled back.

God the woman was beautiful. It just wasn’t fair that anyone should be blessed with such perfect genes. From the top of her perfectly blond head, and she knew from some of the pictures they had exchanged that it was naturally blond, to the bottom of her perfect long legs, she was every man’s wet dream.

Michelle watched as Liz poured herself some wine and brought the glass to her dark red lips. She made a soft moan of delight as she tasted the vintage the waiter had recommended.

“So, Liz, have you ever done this before…been with a woman I mean?” The question was part of the act, but she was curious, too. It had almost been too easy to lure her to this little meeting. She had to wonder if she had been cheating on Joshua from day one.

“No, not in person anyway…on the computer, yes.”

“Do you have a husband or boyfriend or anything?” Michelle bit the inside of her cheek as she asked the question. She couldn’t let the happy mask she wore slip away, even as she asked a question that set her on fire with rage.

“A boyfriend. He knows I fantasize about women, but he doesn’t know about us.”

The way she said “us” sent a shiver down Michelle’s spine.

“I have a confession, Michelle.” Before she continued, Liz reached across the table and traced her fingers quickly over Michelle’s hand. “Every time my boyfriend has fucked me since we talked last I’ve been fantasizing about you. Every time he’s gone down on me I imagined it was you.” Her cheeks colored a deep pink as she finished her confession.

Michelle was speechless. A jolt of sensual awareness spread through every inch of her as an image of the sexy blond bombshell across the table from her, legs spread wide, filled her imagination. What the hell was wrong with her? She may have had an idle fantasy once in a while about a woman, but not this one. However, that fact did nothing to stop her pussy from moistening.

“I hope I didn’t shock you.” Liz smiled.

“No, I mean maybe…I’ve fantasized about you too.” Up until a moment ago that would have been a bald-faced lie, but now…even as she spoke she couldn’t shake the erotic images that danced through her mind.

“Good. I was nervous coming here, but I’m glad I did. You’re even more beautiful than your picture.” Liz tightened her hand over Michelle’s and laced their fingers together.

Damn, Michelle silently cursed. Things were not going right, not at all. This was Liz the bitch holding her hand. She despised everything about the woman, or at least she had until moments ago. Maybe it was the wine going to her head, or maybe Liz was such a damned good catch, even she couldn’t help but be enchanted by her.

Michelle was so off-balance by her unexpected reaction to Liz that she almost missed her cue. As she spotted Josh entering the restaurant, she quickly leaned forward across the small table that separated them, and brought her lips to Liz’s hand.

To the casual observer it would have been hardly a noticeable event, nothing but an innocent gesture, but Michelle was fairly certain it would catch Josh’s attention.

* * *

Josh wasn’t so certain that agreeing to this meeting with Michelle was the best idea he had ever had, but as he stood in front of the restaurant where he had agreed to meet her, it was too late to turn around. He was already too committed to this plan to change his mind now.

He had made the mistake of leaving Michelle, and before he had realized the error of his ways he had found Liz. Now he was stuck between the two, and if he wasn’t careful he would end up just hurting everyone more than he already had.

Tonight was his last chance to somehow make it right with Michelle, and he was betting it all on a plan he had no faith would really work. Damn, what had he been thinking?

As soon as he opened the door to the restaurant, he spotted Michelle seated at the back of the restaurant. Shock momentarily stole away his breath, but it took just a single moment for that shock to turn to red hot arousal. His cock throbbed against his belly beneath his jeans as he closed the distance between the door and the table at the back of the restaurant where Michelle sat.

Somehow, against the odds, all was not lost yet.

“Michelle, Liz. What a surprise.” He smiled as he greeted the unlikely pair.

* * *

“I have to admit that this is not what I expected when you said you would have my things here for me.” Josh spoke to Michelle, but his eyes never left the spot where the two women’s hands sat laced together on the table.

Michelle did her best to paste the smug smile she had rehearsed all week onto her face. “Glad you could make it, Josh. I’d offer you a seat, but, well, they’re all taken.”

Despite the fact that everything was coming together just as she had planned, nervous butterflies danced through every inch of her body. Josh was supposed to be furious. Liz was supposed to be destroyed. But, Liz’s fingers were still laced tightly through hers, and if she were to be the judge, the heat in Josh’s gaze had nothing to do with anger.

“Are you sure there’s not room for a third?” His voice was thick with sensual innuendo.

“Is there, Michelle…room for a third?” Liz tightened her grip on Michelle’s hand, and lifted it from the table to her perfectly painted lips as she asked the question. She kissed Michelle’s hand just as Michelle had kissed hers just moments ago.
